OUR TEAM
Jenifer Kelly
I hold a Master's degree in Special Education and a post-master's certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 Practitioner and have certificates in Narrative-Focused Trauma Care (Level 1) and Somatic Attachment Therapy.
For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside children, adults, and families as they navigate challenges, pursue growth, and discover hope and healing.
My professional experience has included education, developmental therapy, behavior analysis, family coaching, and trauma-informed soul care. I also had the honor of homeschooling my children for 10 years. (See the Parent Coaching and Soul Care sections to learn more about the services.)
I am married to my wonderful husband, Bryan, and am both an adoptive and biological mom. I love reading, gardening, and most things outdoors and adventure-oriented. Above all, I cherish spending time with my family.

I have spent the last 28 years working in the fields of non-profit community development and ministry. Part of my life’s calling has included founding a nonprofit (Common Ground Montgomery) focused on neighborhood revitalization, mentoring kids growing up distressed communities, and connecting people across racial and cultural lines.
As we partnered with others to address broken families, crime, violence, educational deficits, food insecurity, and inadequate housing, my own experience living within the community exposed my family and me to stressors that took a long-term toll. My family’s experiences, along with some significant personal pain and disillusionment, exposed much of my own brokenness and unresolved trauma. While trying to eradicate poverty in the community I lived in and served, I became painfully aware of my own poverty inside.
How do you walk with others toward health, care for your own hurting family, and help heal a community when you are unhealed and dysfunctional in many ways yourself? Facing personal and family crises drove me to begin the hard work on myself and seek the professional counseling and care that I desperately needed in areas that I could not simply pray away or spiritualize away. That journey also led me to pursue education and training so I could better walk with others in their struggles. Over the last decade, my desire to understand my own pain led me deeper into the study of trauma, escapism, attachment, and healing.
I was mentored and trained as a ministry and non-profit leader and organizational coach, spent the last 8 years working with leaders of inner-city ministries through Desire Street Ministries, completed a trauma-focused PSAP certification, and am currently finishing clinicals for my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This training builds upon my Master of Divinity degree and nearly three decades of experience walking alongside individuals, families, ministry leaders, and communities to shape how I counsel others and train leaders and groups.
I now have the honor of focusing on cultivating safe and honest counseling relationships where people can explore their stories, understand what has shaped them, and pursue inner healing, growth, and a deeper, gracious connection with God, self, and others. I would love to walk with you.
